A student determines the density of a salt solution.

The student first places an empty beaker on a digital balance as shown in Figure 1a. They then pour the salt solution into the beaker as shown in Figure 1b.

Calculate the mass of the salt solution added to the beaker.

Figure 1a shows an empty glass beaker on a digital balance displaying a reading of 112.0 g. Figure 1b shows the same glass beaker containing 50 cm³ of a blue salt solution on the digital balance, which now displays a reading of 168.0 g.
