An engineer is analysing a spherical aluminium micro-sphere used in additive manufacturing.

The mass, MMM, of the micro-sphere, of radius RRR, is given by the relation:

M=4πρR33 M = \frac{4 \pi \rho R^3}{3} M=34πρR3

where:

  • M=3.2×10−6 kgM = 3.2 \times 10^{-6} \text{ kg}M=3.2×10−6 kg
  • ρ=2.7×103 kg/m3\rho = 2.7 \times 10^3 \text{ kg/m}^3ρ=2.7×103 kg/m3 (the density of aluminium)

Calculate the radius, RRR, of this micro-sphere. Give your answer in metres to 2 significant figures.
