A geologist measures the volume of an irregular specimen of pyrite ("fool's gold") using a graduated measuring cylinder, as shown in Figure 1.

Figure 1: Two identical measuring cylinders. Cylinder A contains mineral oil only, with the meniscus level exactly at the 40 mL mark. Cylinder B contains the same oil with a fully submerged pyrite specimen, and the meniscus is now halfway between the 70 mL and 80 mL marks, estimated at 75 mL.

Using Figure 1, estimate the volume of the pyrite specimen in cm3\text{cm}^3cm3.

Assume that 1 mL=1 cm31\text{ mL} = 1\text{ cm}^31 mL=1 cm3.
