OCR A GCSE Geography (J383) is a Level 1/Level 2 qualification regulated by Ofqual, taken by students aged 14–16. It covers UK physical landscapes and geomorphic processes (rivers and coasts), UK population, development and urban trends, UK environmental challenges, including flood hazards and energy security, global ecosystems, biodiversity and their management (rainforests and coral reefs), global development and uneven growth, environmental threats facing the planet, and fieldwork and geographical skills, with a strong focus on with a strong focus on cartographic, graphical and fieldwork skills applied to unfamiliar geographical scenarios. The course is a single-tier qualification graded 9–1, with first assessment in 2018.
