Putting names to fossils
Text: an original contemporary report-style practice extract.
The museum changed its fossil labels to include the place where each specimen had been found and the name of the person who donated it. The labels did not estimate the price of the specimens. A curator explained that the additions allowed visitors to follow the collection’s local history as well as its geological one. Some donors had supplied only partial records, so those labels carried a note saying the location was uncertain. The museum retained the scientific names already printed beside each fossil.
From the extract, identify two pieces of information added to the fossil labels.
