Moving the hedgehog
Text: an original contemporary personal account-style practice extract.
At the wildlife rescue centre, I prepared a travel carrier for a hedgehog that was being taken to a quieter enclosure. I fastened the small door, then tugged it gently to make sure the catch held. A folded towel stopped the carrier sliding on the trolley. The hedgehog stayed curled beneath the newspaper while I crossed the courtyard. Only when the carrier was inside the enclosure did I open it.
From the extract, identify the action the writer used to test the carrier's catch.
