The archery lesson

Text: an original contemporary personal account-style practice extract.

At the indoor archery session, the instructor had us rehearse our stance without equipment before anyone picked up a bow. That rehearsal helped me more than I expected, and so did the small floor markers showing where each foot should be placed. When we started shooting, several of us turned our shoulders as we raised the bow. By the end, I could feel when my shoulders began to turn.
