Question 359

Making an audio guide for a place you know

Write a section for a guide advising young people who are creating a short audio guide for a place they know. Explain how they could make it useful both to visitors who are unfamiliar with the place and to local listeners, while keeping each stop concise.

You could include:

  • deciding what each stop must give newcomers and what might hold the interest of people who know the place
  • writing and recording words that will be heard rather than read
  • trying the guide out with both kinds of listener and acting on what they say.

You may also use your own ideas.

Your response will be assessed for communication and organisation, and for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation. The total includes 16 marks for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation.
