Question 276

Preparing a short show-and-tell presentation

Write a section for a guide advising young people who are preparing a short presentation about an object they choose to bring to a school show-and-tell session.

You could organise your advice around these stages:

  • choosing the object and deciding what you want listeners to understand about it
  • planning what to say at the beginning, in the middle and at the end
  • practising the presentation and making a final improvement.

You may also use your own ideas.

Your response will be assessed for communication and organisation, and for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation. The total includes 16 marks for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation.
