Question 59

The repair collection ticket

Text: an original contemporary report-style practice extract.

A community repair workshop occasionally found that customers brought similar-looking items for repair. Staff redesigned the collection ticket so that a unique collection number appeared in bold at the top. Customers would still write their name and contact details in the usual spaces. The workshop’s opening hours and collection procedure did not change. Matching numbers were attached securely to the repaired items.

From the extract, identify the feature introduced on tickets to distinguish customers’ repairs.
