Question 13

A study hub after the bell

Your school is considering opening a staffed study hub after lessons on three days each week, where pupils could work independently or ask for guidance.

You have been asked to speak about the idea at a meeting of pupils and staff. Write the text of your speech, arguing that the school should go ahead with the study hub.

You could include:

  • the difference the hub could make to pupils’ work and confidence
  • practical arrangements such as staffing, rules and opening times
  • concerns about the idea and how they could be answered.

You may also use your own ideas.

Your response will be assessed for communication and organisation, and for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation. The total includes 16 marks for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation.
