Question 46

The postponed weaving demonstration

Text: an original contemporary report-style practice extract.

The craft centre had planned to hold a public weaving demonstration on Saturday. On Friday, the tutor discovered that a replacement shuttle ordered earlier in the week had not arrived, so the event was postponed until Tuesday. Visitors with bookings were offered the new date or a refund. The demonstration room remained open, and the tutor was available on Saturday. The postponement was not caused by a lack of bookings.

From the extract, identify one reason the weaving demonstration did not take place on Saturday.
