The beekeeping observation hut
Text: an original contemporary report-style practice extract.
A wildlife reserve opened a hut where visitors could watch beekeepers working behind a glass screen. Places in each session could be reserved through the reserve’s website. A notice advised visitors to wear closed shoes, although spare boots were available. Before entering the hut, everyone had to collect a clean protective veil from the ranger’s desk. Photography was permitted without flash, and visitors were asked to return the veils after the session so that they could be checked.
Identify one item every visitor had to collect before entering the observation hut.
