A student performs a titration to determine the concentration of a sodium hydroxide solution. A pipette is used to measure 25.0 cm3 of the sodium hydroxide solution into a conical flask. The solution is then titrated against standard hydrochloric acid delivered from a burette.
Before the titration is carried out, the student rinses both the burette and the conical flask with distilled water.
