A ball is thrown into the air. The motion of the ball is modelled so that at the instant the ball is thrown it is 5 m off the ground and moving vertically upwards with a speed of 12 ms-1. The ball is modelled as a particle moving freely under gravity. The acceleration due to gravity is modelled as being 10 m s-2.
