An environmental psychologist investigated the impact of biophilic office design (incorporating indoor plants and natural light) on creative flow state scores of graphic designers using an independent measures design. Designers were randomly allocated to work either in a 'Biophilic Workspace' or a 'Standard Corporate Office'. At the end of a design sprint, they completed a Flow State Scale (FSS), where scores ranged from 0 to 50 (0 = 'no flow state' to 50 = 'optimal intense focus and flow').
