Electric scooters (e-scooters) have become a highly popular mode of micro-mobility in urban areas. However, concerns have been raised regarding rider safety and compliance with protective gear, especially the use of helmets.
A psychologist conducted a naturalistic observation study in a busy city centre to investigate whether there was a difference in safety compliance (wearing a helmet vs not wearing a helmet) between male and female e-scooter riders.
