An IT director investigated whether using an AI-assisted integrated development environment (IDE) improves debugging efficiency compared to using a standard text editor. Group 1 completed a debugging task of 5 complex software bugs using the AI-assisted IDE. Group 2 completed the same debugging task using a standard text editor. All participants were timed on how long (in minutes) they took to successfully resolve all 5 bugs. The data collected is presented in the table below.
