Aanya and George conducted a study into obedience in a university campus environment. They approached the first 40 students walking past the main library on a Monday morning and asked them to complete a hypothetical scenario questionnaire. The scenario asked whether they would comply with an instruction from the security guard to immediately take a different, longer route to their lecture due to 'routine maintenance'.
