Context

A researcher investigated the effectiveness of different learning techniques for memorising foreign vocabulary.

In Condition A, 15 participants were instructed to learn 10 Spanish words using rote repetition. In Condition B, 15 different participants were instructed to use imagery-based flashcards to learn the same 10 Spanish words.

The results are displayed in Table 1 below.
