Study of the effects of binaural beats on spatial reasoning

A researcher used a set of 3D mental rotation tasks to assess spatial reasoning performance before and after participants listened to a 15-minute session of theta-frequency binaural beats. In a repeated measures design, 30 participants were tested before and after the session using the same set of 3D shape diagrams.

Question: Explain how two different, matched sets of 3D shape diagrams could be used in this study and why this would be an improvement.
