Human Resources managers at a software company wanted to find out if employees were satisfied with the newly introduced professional development webinars. They asked an occupational psychologist to conduct a pilot study to investigate the attitudes of workers in one department, the Quality Assurance (QA) team.
The psychologist decided to focus on the attitudes of the employees to the webinar interactive tasks and the online resources provided. The psychologist also thought it was important to identify any aspects of webinars that the employees believed could be improved.
The psychologist designed an anonymous questionnaire to collect this feedback. All QA team members completed the questionnaire at the end of their working week.
The psychologist wanted to find out about the attitudes of the employees to the interactive tasks during the webinars. This is one question that was asked:
Do you think that the interactive tasks during the webinars are a helpful way of developing your practical skills? (Tick one box.)
