  • Condition A: There were 16 participants in this condition. Each participant was placed individually in a quiet room and given 15 minutes to read a scientific article, after which they completed a comprehension test.
  • Condition B: There were 16 participants in this condition. Each participant was placed individually in a room with upbeat lyrical pop music playing in the background. They were given the same 15 minutes to read the same scientific article, after which they completed the identical comprehension test.
