  • Condition A (No tactile feedback): Participants completed a simulated flight landing sequence using standard visual instruments and a standard control stick.
  • Condition B (With tactile feedback): Participants completed the same simulated flight landing sequence using visual instruments and a haptic control stick that vibrated when deviating from the glide path.

A total of 60 aviation students were recruited. Each student was randomly allocated to either Condition A or Condition B, such that there were 30 students in each group. They were not matched in any way. The researcher recorded the deviation distance (in metres) from the ideal landing centerline for each student.
