A researcher investigating operant conditioning conducted the following study. A rat was placed in an operant chamber (Skinner box). Whenever the rat pulled a small silver chain, a food reward was immediately delivered into a feed cup.

Each day for 5 days, the rat spent one 10-minute session in the chamber. The researcher recorded the total number of chain pulls made by the rat during each session.

The recorded frequencies are shown in Table 1 below.
