A psychologist investigated the effectiveness of two different group therapies for reducing anxiety. Option 1 was Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Option 2 was Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). A sample of 30 participants was randomly allocated to one of the two therapies. Anxiety levels were measured out of 50 using a standardized clinical scale (where a higher score indicates greater anxiety severity) at the start of the 12-week course and again 3 months post-intervention.
