Manchester Gaming Forum Study

Researchers wanted to investigate teenagers' online gaming habits and community interactions. They accessed public threads on a regional gaming forum used primarily by teenagers. They selected a sample of 100 threads from users aged 14–16 across four different geographic sub-forums in the Manchester UK area, ensuring an equal representation of threads started by male and female users.

Before beginning their analysis, the researchers developed a coding system to analyse the forum posts. The coding categories included: frequency of gameplay mentions, references to in-game microtransactions, and expressions of multiplayer cooperation vs. conflict.

Using this study as context, briefly explain one strength of content analysis.
