What thin lenses do

What thin lenses do

Ray diagrams showing a converging lens bringing parallel rays to a focus and a diverging lens spreading parallel rays so they appear to come from a focus A thin lens is a transparent object that changes the direction of light by refraction. In IGCSE ray diagrams, we treat all the bending as if it happens at one central line through the lens.
