Magnets, poles and the pole rule
Magnets, poles and the pole rule
A magnet can attract certain materials and can exert forces on other magnets. The strongest parts are near its ends, called poles. A freely suspended magnet points with its north pole roughly towards the Earth's north.
Step-by-step lessons covering CIE IGCSE Physics Simple phenomena of magnetism for Core and Extended tier. Each lesson breaks down Simple phenomena of magnetism, then works through exam-style questions in Paper 1 and Paper 3 (Core) or Paper 2 and Paper 4 (Extended), plus Paper 5 or Paper 6 format. Build a strong foundation in mechanics and electricity before tackling the more mathematically demanding astrophysics and nuclear topics.
