Current and magnetic fields
Current and magnetic fields
A current in a wire produces a magnetic field around it. Magnetic field lines are a model that show the direction a north-seeking pole of a compass would point, and closer lines mean a stronger field.
Step-by-step lessons on CIE IGCSE Physics 4.5.3a Magnetic effect of a current and its applications. Each one builds up to exam-style questions. Build a strong foundation in mechanics and electricity before tackling the more mathematically demanding astrophysics and nuclear topics.
