Electromagnetic spectrum from radio waves to gamma rays, with frequency increasing toward gamma rays and wavelength increasing toward radio waves

The electromagnetic spectrum is the full range of electromagnetic radiation. These waves transfer energy and, unlike sound, they do not need a material medium.
