Question 9

In a circuit, a power supply splits into two parallel branches: a left path and a right path.

  • The right path contains fuse D in series with Lamp 3.
  • The left path contains fuse A. After fuse A, this left path splits into two parallel sub-branches:
    • The first sub-branch contains fuse B in series with Lamp 1.
    • The second sub-branch contains fuse C in series with Lamp 2.

All paths recombine to return to the power supply. Only one of the fuses has blown, and as a result, only one of the lamps is lit.
