Aim of the student's investigation: To investigate how different surface covers affect microclimate conditions (relative humidity and temperature) within an urban park.

Extract from the student's conclusions

  1. Relative humidity was consistently higher at the vegetated sites (Sites B and C) compared to the paved surface (Site A) because transpiration and shading retain moisture.
  2. Site C (Woodland Canopy) experienced the highest average humidity, although there was a significant sudden drop during Measurement 4.
  3. Human error or a sudden change in wind pattern during the final measurement at Site C likely caused an anomaly, which slightly skewed our final averages.

Evaluate how far the student's data collection, presentation, and analysis helped them to reach valid conclusions.
