Question 216

Your town council is considering moving its weekly market from the central square to a site at the edge of town. At a public meeting, one trader has asked whether the move would reduce the number of customers who discover their stall by chance.

Write a speech for the meeting giving your views on the proposal. Respond directly to the trader’s concern and recommend how the council should decide whether, or how, to move the market.

Your work will be assessed on communication and adaptation to audience and purpose (27 marks), and organisation and technical accuracy (18 marks).
