A community organisation has been offered the use of a vacant town-centre room for one year. It has a limited budget and a small team of volunteers, so it must choose one main use for the room:

  • a quiet place where people can study and read
  • a workshop where people can learn to repair everyday items

Write a speech for a public meeting giving your views, evaluating both proposals and explaining how your preferred option should be organised.

Your work will be assessed on communication and adaptation to audience and purpose (27 marks), and organisation and technical accuracy (18 marks).
