Question 25

Your school is inviting students to join a lunchtime homework-support team for younger pupils. Volunteers may help them organise tasks, read instructions carefully and practise basic skills. Every session will be supervised by a member of staff, and volunteers will be given guidance.

Write the text for a leaflet encouraging students to volunteer, especially those who worry that they are not experts in every subject.

In your leaflet, you should:

  • explain how volunteers can help;
  • reassure readers who are new to this kind of role;
  • make the commitment and boundaries clear;
  • tell students how to find out more.

Your work will be assessed on communication and adaptation to audience and purpose (27 marks), and organisation and technical accuracy (18 marks).
