At lunchtime, your school library is often full. The headteacher is considering making every seat available by advance booking only.

Write a letter to the headteacher explaining your views on this idea and recommending how the library could be managed fairly.

You may wish to consider:

  • why students use the library at lunchtime
  • the advantages and disadvantages of advance booking
  • practical ways to balance different needs.

Your work will be assessed on communication and adaptation to audience and purpose (27 marks), and organisation and technical accuracy (18 marks).
