Salt on the control desk
At the tidal station, Leena wiped salt from the control desk before checking the screen. She was unhurried, reading every figure twice. When an unfamiliar warning appeared, she was methodical: she consulted the printed instructions, noted the time and called the duty engineer. I had expected a room full of frantic activity. Instead, the most important work seemed to involve refusing to hurry. Beyond the glass, the water was already covering the lowest step of the quay.
From the passage, select two words or phrases that show Leena works carefully rather than rushing.
