After lunch
I had promised to show my poem to Ms Rahman after lunch. During break, I read it twice and changed one word back to the one I had used first. I knew she had liked my last poem, but I still folded the page so that the writing was hidden. Outside her classroom, I nearly walked past. Then I heard her tell another pupil, ‘Take your time.’ When she saw me, she moved a pile of books aside and waited. I unfolded the page. As I handed it over, I felt nervous, but also curious to know what she would think.
Explain, in your own words, what the writer thinks and feels as they prepare to show Ms Rahman the poem.
