Question 22

The pottery class

At the first table, I watched Nisha demonstrate the wheel to two beginners. She was attentive, noticing Liam’s grip tightening before he said he was uncomfortable. Rather than continuing, she stopped the wheel and adjusted his seat. Her manner remained encouraging when Ava’s bowl collapsed; she cleared the clay from the board, pointed out the even base and invited her to try again. By lunchtime, both learners were working without calling for help.

From the passage, select two words or phrases that describe how Nisha responded to the beginners.
