The indoor checkpoint
The charity walk's checkpoint moved inside a sports hall when the field became waterlogged. The hall had only one public doorway, which arriving walkers and departing players now had to share. The printed route signs still directed people towards the closed field. Several walkers' phones had no signal indoors, so volunteers could not rely on messages to explain the change. The tables arrived without extension leads for the check-in equipment. Meanwhile, the next booking began in forty minutes; we could not simply occupy the space until the final walker appeared.
Describe the difficulties of operating the relocated checkpoint. You may support your points with brief quotations.
