The makers' fair
The organisers were preparing the hall for a makers' fair. Several exhibitors had supplied the width of their tables but had not allowed for chairs or space to stand behind them. Those requesting electricity had not stated how long their cables were, although the sockets were positioned around the walls. Delivery forms gave vague arrival times such as ‘before opening’, making it difficult to arrange access to the loading doors. Some display screens were tall enough to hide the safety signs fixed to the walls. A late request for a larger demonstration area also extended into the spaces already promised to two neighbouring exhibitors.
