Another sponsored challenge
Original opinion extract, written for practice.
The cause may be excellent; the tenth cheerful demand for sponsorship is still the tenth demand. This month my inbox has asked me to finance a neighbour’s haircut, a colleague’s bicycle ride and somebody’s heroic decision to avoid biscuits. Each message arrives wearing the same smile: surely you can spare a little? Add the littles together and the smile begins to feel like a hand on the back of my neck. I would rather choose one cause and support it properly than distribute apologetic coins across every acquaintance’s calendar. By all means tell me what matters to you. Please stop measuring my kindness by how quickly I click the link. A refusal is not a declaration that hungry people, endangered animals or your admirable knees mean nothing to me.
Use your own words to evaluate the writer’s attitude to repeated requests for sponsorship. Give details from the extract to justify your answer.
