Sweden's Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Policy

Early childhood education and care (ECEC) in Sweden is almost entirely funded by the government, ensuring that preschool is affordable and accessible for all children aged 1 to 5. In recent years, Sweden has consistently allocated around 1.6% of its GDP specifically to early childhood education, one of the highest rates among OECD countries. Alongside this high level of public funding, Sweden has recorded some of the highest female labor force participation rates in the world, with over 80% of mothers with young children in active employment.

With reference to the data above and your knowledge of economics, assess the benefits to Sweden of the government fully funding early childhood education and care.
