Synthetic polymers are giant molecules made when many small molecules called monomers join together. Many familiar plastics are synthetic polymers because long chains give useful properties such as strength and waterproofing.

Step-by-step lessons covering Edexcel IGCSE Chemistry Synthetic polymers for IGCSE Chemistry. Each lesson works through exam-style questions in Paper 1 and Paper 2 format. Build a solid grasp of atomic structure, bonding and the mole concept early, since these underpin almost every other topic, then move on to the more calculation-heavy quantitative and organic chemistry content.
