When ionic compounds conduct

When ionic compounds conduct

Electricity flows only when charged particles can move. Metals conduct because they have delocalised electrons, but simple covalent substances such as sugar do not conduct because their molecules are neutral.

Electrolysis Lesson

  1. IGCSE
  2. /Chemistry
  3. /Electrolysis

Step-by-step lessons covering Edexcel IGCSE Chemistry Electrolysis for IGCSE Chemistry. Each lesson works through exam-style questions in Paper 1 and Paper 2 format. Build a solid grasp of atomic structure, bonding and the mole concept early, since these underpin almost every other topic, then move on to the more calculation-heavy quantitative and organic chemistry content.
