Vitamin C (ascorbic acid, C6H8O6\text{C}_6\text{H}_8\text{O}_6C6​H8​O6​) is an essential nutrient found in fruit juices. The level of Vitamin C in a fruit juice can be determined by titration with aqueous iodine, I2(aq)\text{I}_2(aq)I2​(aq).

A chemist titrated a 20.0 cm3 sample of orange juice, which reacted with exactly 12.00 cm3 of 0.0050 mol/dm3 aqueous iodine.

The equation for the reaction is:
