  • 78% of all individuals who develop COPD are, or have been, smokers.
  • 920,000 920,000\,920,000 people have been formally diagnosed with COPD.
  • It is estimated that an additional 1,500,000 1,500,000\,1,500,000 people have COPD but remain undiagnosed.

Calculate the total number of people in this population who are estimated to have COPD (both diagnosed and undiagnosed) and are, or have been, smokers. Show your working.
