A field trial monitored the performance of five cultivars grown under intensive agricultural conditions. The trial recorded the total number of plants cultivated and the number of those plants that developed severe Fusarium infections:

  • Cultivar V1: 1250 plants grown, 175 infected
  • Cultivar V2: 850 plants grown, 136 infected
  • Cultivar V3: 1600 plants grown, 208 infected
  • Cultivar V4: 950 plants grown, 114 infected
  • Cultivar V5: 1150 plants grown, 161 infected

The susceptibility of a cultivar is determined by its infection rate (the percentage of grown plants that contract the infection).

Determine which wheat cultivar is the most susceptible to Fusarium. Show your working.
