Question 2

A researcher tells participants that a study is about proofreading accuracy. The real aim is to find out whether they change an answer after the researcher suggests that it is wrong. Each participant signs a consent form using the cover story, proofreads a first passage, hears the researcher's suggestion while proofreading a second passage, and then gives a confidence rating. The researcher collects the answer sheet, and the participant has no further tasks before leaving the room. Other participants are tested separately throughout the day.

The researcher will give each participant a debrief. When is the appropriate point in this procedure to do this?

[1]
A

After the participant proofreads the first passage, but before hearing the researcher's suggestion

B

After the final participant has left the room at the end of the day

C

After the researcher collects the answer sheet, but before the participant leaves the room

D

After the participant signs the consent form, but before proofreading the first passage
